This web site is for the use of Monash students taking the
unit CPE5011/FIT5032 Web Applications Development, offered by the Faculty of
Information Technology, Monash University, Australia, Malaysia and South Africa.
Before attempting this unit, students need to have completed a basic unit on web development (like CPE9005/FIT9025 Web Development or similar undergraduate unit), or, alternatively, to have an understanding of the writing of web pages using XHTML. Students also need some prior, basic, experience in object oriented programming.
This unit is offered in semester 1, 2008 in both normal mode with standard lectures and tutorials, and also in Walkabout u-Learning flexible mode. Students can study the unit entirely through this web site (Walkabout u-Learning), or from standard lectures, or a mixture of both methods. Students are free to structure their learning as they wish. As well as the standard lectures, students have access to weekly on-campus drop in help sessions and an on-line audio/video help sessions.
